Damien Granderson is an Entertainment Lawyer member of the firm’s sports law practice and a former Major League Baseball player. He achieved fame after he received a full-time contract with the New York Yankees, who was then one of the best players in the MLB. Damien graduated from Arizona State University and earned his law degree at Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law.

Damien Granderson was born in Los Angeles, California, to James and Marie Granderson on September 15, 1974; his parents were both teachers at San Marino High School, where he graduated in 1992. He went on to attend Arizona State University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism with a major in journalism and a minor in political science

He began his career as a reporter for the Los Angeles Daily Journal. He soon joined the law firm of Irell and Manella, where he worked for four years as an intellectual property associate, focusing on entertainment law. In 2005 Damien Granderson moved to Bressler, Amery, and Ross, LLP.

 

He did this to work as a partner in their sports and entertainment law practice. Damien played baseball from high school through university but didn’t play professionally until the New York Yankees drafted him in 1996 (Globalnews). 

 

The New York Yankees signed Damien to a Major League Baseball contract in 2001. Damien Granderson is a successful lawyer and former Major League Baseball player.
