Dick DeVos May Purchase Coppercraft Distillery

Dick DeVos may have purchased Coppercraft Distillery, according to Michigan Live. If he did that will be great news for this awesome distillery. An application has been filed with the state to add it to the Windquest group of companies. These companies that are owned by Dick DeVos include The Stow Company, Reserve Wine and Foods, Boxed Water and Neurocore. This distillery has already had its rum named as the official spirit of Holland, Michigan’s Tulip Time. Setting them apart, most ingredients for the liquor is grown locally with the grain being grown about 10 miles north of Holland. Many of the other ingredients come from Holland’s Farmers Market.

Coppercraft Distillery currently sells its products in 100 locations. Most are located in Michigan. They also operate a 50 seat tasting room. In keeping with the local emphasis the walls of the tasting room are done in old house and barn wood from around Holland. Current plans include expanding the tasting room.

The distillery produces a variety of liquors including whiskey, vodkas, rums and gins. Current plans call for but on to become their flagship product.

Dick’s wife Betsy is from Holland, Michigan. The couple has maintained a vacation home in the community since 2010. Prior to that time, Dick’s father maintained a home on the same piece of land that was torn down to male room for the new home that dwarfs others in its wealthy neighborhood >> http://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2010/09/amway_heir_dick_and_betsy_devo.html

The generosity of DeVos is hard to beat. Therefore, if he has purchased this distillery it promises good things for Holland in the years to come.
